Our President

Hi, I’m Karin MacDonald and I am the President of the Adoptive Families Association.  My husband Brendan and I have a gorgeous nine-year-old son, who we brought home from the Philippines in 2013.  We are now officially waiting to bring home a little brother. I have been on the committee since 2014, and I am very excited about helping with the role that the AFA plays in supporting families in the adoption and permanent care community in Canberra and region. 

Whether you are just starting to look into forming a family through long term fostering, permanent care or adoption; you are waiting to be matched; or you have formed your family, I hope that this website can help to support you.  I would encourage you to join the Adoptive Families Association as we understand this process and the issues you will face in a way that others don’t.  We are here to support you!
