Who We Are

The Adoptive, Kinship and Fostering Families Association is run by a small committee of volunteers who coordinate activities and resources. Member participation is always encouraged in organising, as well as attending, events.

Latest News

The Adoptive, Kin and Fostering Families Assocation (AKFFA) started life as the APA (Adoptive Parents Association) in 1975. It later became the AFA (Adoptive Families Assoc) when it was pointed out that the name was not inclusive of our children.  It’s fitting now, after 46 years, that the AFA members changed its name to AKFFA at the November 2021 Annual General Meeting, to have a name that is inclusive of all our families.
