AFA AGM Sunday 12 November 2017

The committee of the Adoptive Families Association (ACT) Inc (known as AFA) cordially invites all members to the 2017 Annual General Meeting (AGM). The AGM provides the opportunity for AFA members to hear about the work undertaken by the committee over the year. 

During the AGM all positions will be declared vacant. Nominations are invited to fill the roles of President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary as well as up to five general committee positions.

The AFA plays a vital role in supporting adoptive families in the ACT region and advocates on behalf of the adoption community. A committed, fully functioning committee is essential to ensure that AFA can continue to fulfill its role, so please show your support by coming along and volunteering your ideas and/or your time.  The greater the participation by families, the greater the benefit to our children.  While there are a people who plan to continue in the their committee roles, we always welcome more input.

Even if you don't feel you can take on a committee role, you can help as a volunteer in other ways such as assisting with coordinating functions or camp, updating policy/procedures documents, helping process membership renewals, helping with the website and e-platforms or volunteering to assist with the e-newsletter. Please come along - I'm sure we can find the perfect role for you.
